How to Read Paul within Judaism and Why it Matters

Join us in our final lecture of 2021, as we journey into the letters and life of Paul.  Dr. Mark Nanos will be lecturing on his life long research and findings on current bible translations, Jewish understanding and various approaches/alternatives to reading the historical letters from Paul.  We will explore different ways to read and understand both the books of Romans and Galatians.

Dr, Nanos' states that, "Ironically, I am convinced that Paul’s voice, which has so often been used in the service of harmful othering, can be understood in quite the other direction—certainly so where his views of Jews and Judaism are concerned, but also beyond that concern, as important as that is to me, and I hope, to you. Reversing the traditional negative foil of the “Jewish other” in the Christian imagination has important promising implications for reversing other “othering” that has appealed to Paul’s voice—as traditionally understood, that is."
